Black Country Reinvestment Grows Carrots!
Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho sampled the delights of the Carrot Health Club in the town yesterday as part of her tour of visits to local businesses.
Lynda said ‘I was really impressed with the standard of facilities and the professional attitude of the staff. The club has flexible opening hours and a range of memberships which are designed to suit peoples’ busy lives and are already branching out into partnerships with local schools and colleges to make sure the healthy living messages are getting through to locals of all ages.’
Carrot has grown in size due to its partnership working with the Black Country Reinvestment Society. The society provides loans to small businesses that are not always able to get all the finance they need from traditional sources. They can help with start up businesses or any private business with less than 250 employees.
Paul Kalinauckas, Chief Executive of the BCRS said: ‘Lack of track record or simply not meeting conventional credit scoring records can hinder many new and small businesses from getting adequate investment. The Black Country Reinvestment Society is a community organisation, run on a not for profit basis and is able to offer loans to enterprises making a positive contribution to the social environmental or economic well being of the Black Country.’
Lynda continued: I’m really pleased that BCRS were able to assist Carrot in their growth plans and hope that we will see many more local businesses benefiting from this excellent initiative.’
