BEACON EMPLOYMENT JUST THE JOB
BEACON EMPLOYMENT JUST THE JOB WITH NEW EMPLOYMENT BASE
Job-seekers aged 18 plus have a boost to their employment prospects, thanks to Beacon Employment’s new base on Hayes Lane, Lye. The premises will be a place for people seeking jobs to improve their skills and also act as a focal point for employers who want to take on new staff.
The Midlands-based employment support charity, working in partnership with Government-backed job-seeking company, ‘a4e’, threw open its doors on Friday in a ceremony attended by local MP, Lynda Waltho.
Lynda said: “For lots of different reasons, people need a helping hand when looking for a new job. It’s really encouraging to see Beacon’s new facility which provides a positive environment for them to get this.”
The new offices have a state of the art IT suite where jobseekers can hone their numeracy, literacy and IT skills and also meeting rooms for new employers to meet with potential staff.
Lynda went on: “The Government’s offering help to people from day one of unemployment which is aimed at avoiding the mistake of Thatcher’s Government in the ‘80s when people were left to rot.
“Beacon, in partnership with the Government, offers help to people, some of whom require specialist support, to prove their worth to potential employers. I know, from speaking to local business leaders that this kind of partnership working, between job-seekers, the Government and employment support organisations gives them confidence in the quality of employees they can take on.
“This new centre is truly a beacon of good practice when it comes to finding jobs for people”
