COUNCIL'S INCOMPETENCE BETRAYS LOCAL PEOPLE
Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho has hit out at 'incompetence' at Tory Dudley Council after it was revealed yesterday that the promised brand new public library for Brierley Hill has been abandoned by council chiefs.
The new facility was to be part of the Stourbridge College Campus Development which has been beset by problems recently.
Said Lynda: "I am truly staggered by the sheer incompetence of the Tories on Dudley Council and their lack of adequate planning.”
Brierley Hill was to be the centrepiece of the new much heralded 'state of the art' Library Service which the Tories said would be a great beacon to other councils! It was also 'sold' to the residents of nearby Quarry Bank as an alternative when they closed Quarry Bank Library against local peoples’ wishes and replaced it with a wholly inadequate Library Link in the Community Centre.
Lynda continued: “It beggars belief that the Head of the Library Service could not do her sums properly. to manage to miscalculate a VAT bill of £7million shows the lack of talent at the Council not to mention the lack of foresight and planning on behalf of the Tory Leadership!
“Once again Dudley Council has let down my constituents and demonstrated the reality of living under an uncaring and inadequate Tory administration."
