STOUBRIDGE’S “GALLANT” HERO HAILED IN HOUSE
Stourbridge war-hero, Michelle Norris MC, was hailed in the House of Commons yesterday as a ‘gallant lady’ by Defence Minister, Quentin Davies. Praise for the local soldier came after Lynda Waltho MP quizzed the Government during Question Time.
Local MP, Lynda Waltho had been using an appearance in the House of Commons to ask the Government what improvements were being made to troops’ equipment and gave L/Cpl Norris as an example of the troops who need protective equipment.
Speaking after her appearance in the Commons Chamber, Lynda said:
“For the Minister to describe Michelle Norris MC as gallant is both fitting and reflective of what I know the whole town thinks of her.
“I’m pleased the Government is taking the issue of safety equipment for troops seriously as the Minister laid out details of improved Osprey body armour that will help protect service personnel in theatre.
“It’s vital that the Government provides troops like Michelle Norris MC with the right equipment to keep them as safe as possible on the ground. But I’ll be very proud to stand alongside Michelle when she’s back home this weekend from Remembrance Sunday.
“The Borough should be proud of this brave young woman and should do everything possible to recognise her sacrifices and those of her colleagues.”
