Quarry Bank Legion Marches on Westminster
Members of the Quarry Bank British Legion were in Westminster recently, for a tour of the famous Houses of Parliament and to visit their local MP, Lynda Waltho.
The 40-strong group were treated to an expert guided tour of many of the 19 buildings in the Palace of Westminster, including the Commons’ chamber, where politicians battle out the issues of the day every week.
After their tour, members of the Quarry Bank Royal British Legion met Lynda Waltho MP, who was on hand for a lively Question and Answer session. The group later went on for some sightseeing round Westminster.
When she’d met the group, Lynda said:
“It’s always a pleasure to host constituents in Westminster and I hope that the Quarry Bank British Legion enjoyed their visit.
“You never forget how lucky you are to work so close to Big Ben, but it’s always nice to hear people’s impressions of the place when they come to see it for themselves.
“I was really pleased to have the opportunity to field a lively Question and Answer session with the Quarry Bank British Legion too. I hope they enjoyed the other day and that their visit will encourage other people to make the trip down to Westminster too. If any groups are interested in visiting, they can contact my office on 01384 374356.”
Group Leader, Gloria Donovan said:
“We had a lovely day visiting our local MP, Lynda Waltho. It was great to have a tour of the House of Commons and then the group really enjoyed being about to quiz our local MP about the job she does. I hope we can go back again soon”
